TIM 2014 - A Look Back (Part 1)

A few months ago, Greg and I were honored to be the official photographers for a new movement spearheaded by our own Pastor from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Together in Mission (or TIM for short) is a TEDx-style event focused on ideas that will help strengthen, improve, and broaden ministry in the Metro DC area. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, I was also asked to speak at the event (more on that tomorrow).

The event highlighted 13 speakers who spilled their heart about topics ranging from sustainability to taking care of the elderly to embracing our inner quitter. And, as is customary at these events, the audience was just as amazing as the speakers! Greg and I had a chance to connect with several of them during breaks and made a few new close friendships - something I believe everyone needs more of!

The TIM team is already in planning mode for the 2015 event, so be sure to like their Facebook page to keep up with the latest news and updates. And in the meantime, be sure to watch the videos of each speaker!

So much energy during registration!
Delicious lunch in the "Hogwarts-esque" dining hall.
Getting to know each other during the breaks.
Getting ready on the sidelines.
The awesome audience.
Our incredible hosts for the day!

Winter Wonderland - ICLS Holiday Party 2013

We've been waiting for the opportune moment to blog this beautiful, wintry event for some time. So with all the random snow and ice over the last few weeks, it finally felt right to post something so wonderfully cool (pun fully intended)! This event was so incredible! From the stunning blue and white decorations in the main hall, to the cozy red and gold in the lounge, and the incredible displays of food as far as the eye could see it was visually stunning. And the energy was absolutely incredible.

We also felt privileged to get to know this organization, the International Center for Language Studies, a woman-owned independent language school in Washington, DC. From the moment we met this team, we were completely inspired by the strong, student-centered community they are fostering to continually promote life-long learning. We had such a blast being part of this event, and look forward to more work with this awesome organization in the future!

Our First Styled Shoot!

We've been waiting patiently to post photos from this amazing session because it was in the running to be featured on some local blogs. And guess what? It was featured on one of our favorites - Capitol Romance!

This was the first styled shoot Greg and I were able to participate in, but it will not be our last. It was such a fun time, partnering with and promoting other incredibly talented vendors in the industry.

First, there was the brains behind the whole operation, Senta of B. Mingled Weddings & Events. She had the vision and brought the urban, modern flair! And she is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet!

Next, was the gorgeous venue, Longview Gallery. It fit the urban, modern vibe perfectly and offered a large, but intimate space. The moody lighting really added to the overall feel. And they had an enclosed patio out back surrounded by rustic buildings. What an awesome place to hold an event!

We also had a lot of fun watching the make-up artist, JuliePage. What a talented, hilarious, and photogenic woman! She made our already gorgeous models look absolutely stunning.

The floral arrangements, made by EightTreeStreet, were amazing. Our personal favorite was the tree centerpiece - we could have photographed it all day!

And finally, none of this would have been possible without our two awesome models - Rialand & Esther. Both of these individuals are as gifted and authentic as they are photogenic! Rialand is the owner of RJ's Music Service, and Esther is an accomplished actress and dancer.

Thanks to everyone! We can't wait to work with you all again soon!
