R&R (Rebranding & Rachel): Building Community

As you may know from an earlier post, I'm rebranding! This means a lot of things: new logo, new website, and new vision for the business. And this also means lots and lots of important decisions. But I don't want this process to be solely about me, because I want my business to embrace both community and creativity.

You see, as I dive deeper into the journey, I've come to a few important realizations, the most revealing of which is this: if I don’t respect, embrace, and advance who I am as a photographer, then my photographs will suffer. In other words, I have to invest in my development as a creative being, just as much as I develop my technical skills behind the camera and sitting behind the computer.

And if there is one thing I know about myself, it is that I thrive within a community: a group of mentors, peers, and clients who will encourage, challenge, and walk along side me...and allow me to do the same for them. So in order to become a better photographer, and create better photographs, I want to build and nurture the community I am blessed to be a part of!

As I embark on this next portion of the journey - the branding process - I want to offer up an opportunity for you to get to know me as a photographer. During each stage of the process (typography choices, color/texture choices, logo choices, and any other major decision point along the way), I'd like to involve you by presenting the two options that speak to me, offering the reasoning behind each selection, and asking for your very valued opinion. I hope this will give you a chance to experience how I think, how I process, and what I value...and then help me communicate that to the world!

Be on the lookout for the first set of options tomorrow! And thank you so much for being a part of my life and my business!
